Fall Chinook & Coho
Everyone’s favorite, simply put. My dates often fill quickly on the calendar this time of year. From mid-August through November, we’ll target these fish as they are in transit back to the waters they were born in, to spawn and finish their life cycle.
I’ll start on the lower Columbia River in mid-august and move up river as far as the mouth of the Klickitat River as needed, depending on what seasons we are given on this world-famous fishery.
I'll fish the tributaries of the lower Columbia when weather and rainfall allows for these fish as well. We employ several different techniques and approaches to catch these fish and often I prefer more hands-on techniques to catch them to make things fun and exciting. If we aren’t trolling for salmon we’ll be hover fishing, back-bouncing, bobber fishing, jigging, twitching jigs or casting and retrieving various lures to hook these fish and load up your freezer.
