Winter Steelhead

There is so much to be said about winter steelhead and the experience of pursuing them. I would consider it to be one of the finest experiences Mother Nature has to offer and one of my favorites to share with people.

We endure whatever weather and water conditions are thrown at us, we adapt our approach and techniques accordingly and we brave the elements at times.

Those who persevere are rewarded with the most iconic fish the northwest has to offer. And while there are many days we hook multiple fish, every winter steelhead is a big deal in my own opinion. If you and your group spend a day pursuing them with me, you’ll understand what I mean.

My winter steelhead season usually begins in December (depending on how many fish are around) and ends in April.
